For me, the happiness factor, and the strength to continue after living with cancer for nine years rarely comes from seeing how others have battled. Instead my inspiration just comes from within. I look at all the places I have been in my life - the good, the bad, the ugly. I know that I'll have more of the same in front of me. This blunt honesty of looking in the mirror makes me feel alive. I don't mind inspiring stories of other people, but I find that the longest lasting motivator comes when I use myself as my own role model.

For myself, surviving treatment for breast cancer has given me a greater appreciation for life and a deeper spirituality. I really enjoyed reading this and other posts on your blog. I am inspired by your story and have written about you at my own blog as part of the "inspiring survivors" series.
