Today I'm pausing to take stock of this blog on Healthy Survivorship, because today marks the 2-year anniversary of my first post.
Since January 24, 2008, this blog has published 341 posts and 987 comments. Most posts and comments address how a modern patient can become a Healthy Survivor.
Many posts are written in response to bloggers' comments or email messages sent privately. I've presented a few series, such as when I addressed the topic of mammologists over the course of a few sequential posts. I've offered book reviews (e.g., Cutting for Stone and Oxygen), movie reviews (e.g., Precious) and responses to hot news items.
Periodically I'll post an entertainingYouTube video as a mini-vacation or a micro-vacation from the seriousness of survivorship, yet with some message germane to Healthy Survivorship.
On rare occasions, I share personal moments in real time, such as my birthday and the engagement of my older daughter (She said, "Yes") and younger daughter (She, Too, Said Yes).
My goal has remained the same since Day 1: To offer a place where healthcare professionals, patients, caregivers and the general public can discuss how modern patients can overcome the challenges of getting good care and living fully. And to do it with posts that are less than 250 words, a limit I've exceeded only a few times.
Thank you for being part of this blog on Healthy Survivorship and for sharing it with others. By doing so, you contribute to my mission: Helping Others Through the Synergy of Science and Caring.
