This post has time-sensitive information, so bear with me for one more interruption before I go back to the mini-series on news of promising research on tumor-gene analysis that led to premature use and marketing of the technique.
Beauty is only skin deep, while cancer is life or death. Still, when going through cancer treatment, attention to appearance can make a huge difference in how a patient feels about him- or herself. It can boost confidence during trying times.
Since 1989, Look Good…Feel Better (LGFB) has hosted thousands of workshops nationwide --- bringing together beauty professionals and cancer patients with the goal of helping patients to cope with the outward effects of treatment.
Next Thursday, July 14, 2011 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM Look Good…Feel Better will host an online forum. This is a pilot program where participants will learn tips and techniques from two of LGFB’s top trainers and can ask questions.
To learn more about Look Good…Feel Better and the programs visit www.lookgoodfeelbetter.org, on Facebook at facebook.com/lookgoodfeelbetter, or on Twitter at twitter.com/lgfb.
For more information and to register for the virtual workshop on Thursday July 14th, go to this site.
Look Good…Feel Better is a national public service program founded and developed by the Personal Care Products Council Foundation, and offered in collaboration with The American Cancer Society and the Professional Beauty Association|National Cosmetology Association.

Thank you for posting this time sensitive message Dr. Wendy.
Fifteen years ago I attended the Look Good Feel Better training session in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Since I am an artist and not a licensed costmetologist I am qualified to instruct how to apply the makeup only however I am not allowed to touch the patients.
I have been able to pass the Look Good Feel Better information on to many women throughout the years.
Now that I am a breast cancer survivor I have seen the wonders taking care of how I look facilitates in my recovery efforts.

Thank you for this valuable information. This is the first I have heard of it. In 2003 I benefited from my local LGFB program when I underwent chemo. It's a great self-esteem booster.
