For the past 22 years, I've spent hours almost every day searching for words that communicate ideas in engaging and memorable ways.
Every day, each of us has innumerable opportunities to use words that can change someone's world -- if not the whole world -- for the better.
Talk about power....

Wendy, A wonderful statement - thank you for sharing. Kirk

In coaching sport we abided by several fundamental rules.
Please let me share just one -
use of all negative words were excluded.
The N words were removed from the vocabulary of our coaches.when dealing with our young athletes.
No,not,never,can't ,don't,won't,shouldn't,couldn't, - GONE
When a child is unable to field a baseball the last thing he needs to hear is " Not that way !" He already knows that.
He needs to hear" that's interesting - let's try it this way"
Those few positive words coupled with example totally changed the child's confidence and performance level.
Performance improved and the child had fun.
We had coaching drills to stress this approach.
The change of just a few words to build up confidence and realistic hope has immeasurable potetntial

Thanks for sharing this, Peter. Those young people were lucky to have you coach. The message is useful not only in sports and not only for children. We can all benefit from positive coaching.
With hope, Wendy
