A recurring theme of this blog is that Healthy Survivors don't try to reinvent the wheel; they find out about and take advantage of available resources that can help. If you or someone you know is a parent of very young children and dealing with cancer, you need to know about a fabulous new resource:
Someone I Love is Sick is a customizable tool to use when talking with children ages 2-6 years old about a parent or grandparent who has cancer. It comes as an empty 7" x 9" three-ring notebook and a packet of laminated pages from which each family can choose the ones that apply to their family's situation.
So, for example, if a father is undergoing radiation that family would pick the page that pictures a dad undergoing radiation therapy. And if it is the mother, the family would choose the following page:
Looks like a good resource for families dealing with cancer. I visited the site and read all the pages. In the future, the website will become more interactive with reader comments and updates.

Great resource. Lots of 20 and 30-something cancer patient moms and dads read my blog. I'll post this as a resource for them.
Thanks.

B: You can order online by clicking the "Buy Now" icon on the top toolbar of homepage. And note that they offer discounts on bulk orders.
Kairol: Yes, that would be great. This is where the Internet magnifies the good people can do.
with hope, Wendy
